I only had $3.05 on me in coins and the sushi roll was $3.60. So, I asked the guy if he could please just let me buy one for the amount that I had. He said, no, there’s a camera right behind me. So, I asked him, do you throw everything out that isn’t sold by the time you finish? He said yes. So, I asked what time they closed, and he replied they had already technically closed. [Many stores in the shopping plaza had technically closed but were still open]. So, I once again, asked, are you going to throw out all of this unsold food when you finish for the day, and once again he confirmed that he would be.

Honestly, I think my mind broke in that moment. It makes absolutely no sense in any capacity! And people wonder why I think so differently to most people. This is not how our society should operate on any level.

I hadn’t noticed that a woman had appeared at the side of me during the exchange I was having with the guy who worked there until she handed me a $1 coin. Showing me that there is still kindness in this world. Which is exactly what I told her.

I think I’m still in shock.  We have just arrived back at the caravan park. We still haven’t made it to the storage shed yet but we have everything that we need for now. We’ll, we would like a heater for the van but we are not sure where the ones we currently own are so want to have a look for them before purchasing anything.
