I’ve been basically sitting in my car for two hours now. I don’t understand what is going on or why. I have read the instructions what feels like a hundred times. I’m so frustrated that I honestly feel like I could cry 😢

It’s almost as if the camera only stays on in parking mode if the car has been driven. But it should have access to the power that the interior lights and flashing hazard lights use. I can’t help but think it’s been installed wrong. I left the car running for ages so that the parking mode would switch on when I turned the car off. It stayed on for a short time, but during that time, the interior lights wouldn’t turn on. It must be connected, I’m sure of it 😐

I tried to call my mechanic but he didn’t answer. I’ve sent him several texts explaining what is going on. I am sure he is probably sick of me, but I’m sick of this. It is supposed to be a relatively easy installation. I have so much to do, yet I’ve wasted my entire morning trying to figure this out. I asked if my mechanic can come past after work, but I haven’t heard back at all. I’m going to call the shop. I waited almost three hours on the first day it was installed incorrectly. I then waited over an hour yesterday. The instructions talk about testing the fuses with an electricity tester, but since he had to ask me for tools when he came last Friday to fix it, I can’t imagine that was done. I want it fixed. I should not be having to spend so much time and energy on it 😮‍💨

My neighbour has given me a portable vacuum cleaner for my car, which is next to me as I’m still sitting in my car. The camera is not on. It should be 😥

Please think good thoughts for me. My good mood is rapidly dropping 🥹

Update: My mechanic called me. He’s not working today. He said he will go over everything again and double check all the settings according to instructions.

He said it must have something to do with the car battery dropping below the set voltage. He said it might be the battery but I reminded him the battery is new. Only a few months old. He is the one who installed it.

He also said it could be faulty. But, I still reckon it’s something to do with the fuse box because the lights wouldn’t turn on when I tried and they should have.

Thankfully, I am back to feeling good. I have the Rocky Horror soundtrack playing nice and loud in my car while I vacuum it. I danced to the Time Warp in the front yard 😆
